So what can you do to help keep your home safe?
One simple way is to ask a friend or neighbour to check in now and again to make sure everything’s OK. Things like clearing away letters, opening and closing curtains and parking their car on the driveway can all help to deter burglars.
Be sure to cancel any milk or newspaper deliveries, and consider using the Post Office’s ‘Keep safe’ service to hold back any mail for a couple of weeks. It’s also a good idea to invest in automatic timer switches for your lights, which will come on at night to make it look like someone’s in.

This is a brilliant business. We have used all of their services: car hire, van hire, their removal service, their man with a van and their storage service. They are so efficient, friendly and offer the best value for miles around. Chris and Ryan moved all our stuff from their storage to our loft today and managed it so quickly, with no fuss, and all with a friendly smile. Steve is always super helpful in the office.
